State of Jammu and Kashmir lies in the extreme north of India. It is bordering China, Pakistan and surrounded by pirpanchal range of mountains. The State has  a population of 12 million. Majority of the population is of Muslims where as people of other beliefs are also living in the State. Political instability, harsh climatic conditions and difficult topography of the State have always told upon the socio economic well being of its population.

IQBAL MEMORIAL TRUST, Srinagar, Kashmir (IMT) was established in the year 1980 as a direct response to the prevalent ignorance, illiteracy, moral turpitude, pitiful poverty and morass into which our society has fallen. Since its inception, the Trust has been striving very hard to achieve its objectives in the field of quality education, moral and economic upliftment and social transformation.

Iqbal Memorial Trust, Srinagar (IMT)  is registered with Registrar of Societies, J&K Government under No.428-S of 1978. It is also registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India under FCRA No.152750006 dated 3-3-1985. Presently, it is running four junior Colleges, providing coaching at various Centres for entrance into professional colleges and manages nearly two hundred Social Service Centres in whole of the J&K State. An Institute of excellence in Technology and Management (IITM) has come up in Budgam District of Kashmir where modern courses in Technology and Management have started from the year 2006.
